Coroner: Toyota employee dies after heavy object falls from forklift at Georgetown plant

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man has died after an incident that took place at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in Georgetown on Tuesday.

Coroner Mark Sutton told LEX 18 that 39-year-old Diego Garcia was killed after a heavy object fell from a forklift at TMMK.

Toyota officials say an "incident" at around 11:00 a.m. Tuesday resulted in the team member's death.

"We are working closely and cooperating fully with all agencies and investigations into the incident," Toyota officials say in a statement. "Words cannot express our sadness for our fellow team member and our deepest sympathies go to his loved ones."

No other details about what happened have been released.
