LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — UPDATE: A suspect is now in custody after reports of shots fired near the Tates Creek campus.
Police arrested 18-year-old Faezon Latrell Odom in connection to the incident. He is not an FCPS graduate or student.
According to FCPS, before 9 a.m., the shots fired reports were near Centre Parkway.
During the investigation, officers found evidence that a gun had been fired near the entrance to the Tates Creek campus.
Around noon, police located the suspect at his home. The suspect will be charged with felony wanton endangerment.
Counselors were on campus this afternoon and will be available next week for students and staff.

Fayette County Public Schools says that Tates Creek Middle School has been placed on lockdown "out of an abundance of caution" after police say a shots fired report happened near the Tates Creek Schools campus this morning.
Tates Creek High School and Elementary School remain on heightened alert. Officials say that students and staff are safe and are asking families to stay away from campus.
The Lexington Police Department says they are assisting the Fayette County Public Schools’ Police Department with investigating what happened. Police say at this time, no injuries have been reported.
