LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — An iconic western Kentucky restaurant destroyed by a fire nearly two years ago is getting closer to reopening.

Patti's 1880s Settlement in Livingston County broke ground on their new building back in August.

A fire broke out back in February and scorched the kitchen and an upstairs office space.

Two dining rooms had some smoke and water damage.

The construction on the new restaurant is nearing completion after some setbacks put crews off schedule.

They are still looking to hire about 150 people for server and kitchen staff positions and are aiming to open in early December.
