NELSON CO., Ky. (LEX 18) — Possible human remains may have been discovered near the border of Nelson and Washington Counties, according to a statement from the Nelson Co. Sheriff's Office.
On Thursday evening, July 23, the Nelson Co. Sheriff's Office became aware of the situation.
On Friday, July 24, due to the difficulty to reach the location, the Nelson Co. Sheriff's Office requested help from the FBI Assisted Response Team.
Possible remains were recovered and sent to the FBI lab in Quantico for testing.
Out of respect for family members of multiple missing persons in these areas, the Nelson Co. Sheriff's Office will not be commenting on this until they have more information from the lab.
