This case has been dismissed and the judge ruled on Thursday that Thomas Morgan acted in self-defense.

Original Story:

A London man was arrested and charged with murder after police said he shot and killed his stepson following an argument, the Laurel Sheriff's Office said in a release issued Wednesday.

Police said 56-year-old James Thomas Morgan shot Matthew Tosh, 31, once in the chest at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at a resident in the Lovelace subdivision roughly five miles from London.

Tosh was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner's Office.

Morgan was taken into custody by police at 3:32 a.m. Wednesday.

He is being held at the Laurel County Correctional Center.
