FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — According to the Frankfort Police Department, a large rockslide happened around 7:13 a.m. at the old rock quarry on Taylor Avenue.

Police say Taylor Avenue will be closed to all-through traffic between Louisville Road and Benson Avenue.

"There are no rocks on the road, but when they fell into the quarry water, the water splashed up onto the roadway with debris and materials and such, so it's closed for that reason, said Ray Kinney, director of Franklin County Emergency Management.

The area of Crown Point should also be avoided for any non-residents due to possible instabilities.
