Man charged with murder in connection to Russell Cave Road shooting

30-year-old Steven McGaughy has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to a September 27 shooting on Russell Cave Road, Lexington Police report.

According to police McGaughy has also been charged with first degree wanton endangerment and first degree criminal mischief. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

FUSUS, Flock license plate readers and the Real-Time Intelligence Center were utilized to identify McGaughy, police said.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office has identified the person that died after a shooting near Diva's Gentlemens Club on Russell Cave Road early Friday morning.

The coroner has identified 25-year-old Jaquan Grundy as the individual who was shot and then taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries on Saturday.

A homicide investigation is now underway following a Friday morning shooting on Russell Cave Road, Lexington Police Report.

Around 1:57 a.m. on Fri., Sept. 27, police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Russell Cave Road near Diva's Gentlemens Club. Upon arrival, one man was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Lexington police are investigating a shooting that happened overnight near Diva's Gentlemens Club on Russell Cave Road on Friday.

According to police, the shooting occurred just before 2:00 a.m. on Friday.

Police say one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
