(LEX 18) — A judge set bail Thursday at $1 million for a Northern Kentucky mother accused of killing her child.
Police said Stacey Schuchart told police that her 1-year-old son died Aug. 16, shortly after he was found unresponsive.
They said that Schuchart told 911 that her son hit his head on a microwave, but the coroner described serious injuries, including a broken arm, head injuries and a detached bladder.
Schuchart has several other children and was pregnant at the time of the alleged homicide.
A public defender requested an alternative to her $1 million bail, but the judge denied it.
Schuchart reportedly has a history of bail jumping, has violated probation and was charged with felonies in the past, including identity theft.
