President Donald Trump will hold a press conference this evening at the White House regarding the spread of COVID-19, better known as the coronavirus.
Trump made the announcement about the press conference in a series of Wednesday morning tweets. He also alleged, without evidence, that news networks MSNBC and CNN were attempting to panic the stock market by making the outbreak look "as bad as possible."
On Tuesday, the CDC — a department run by the Trump administration — warned that Americans should expect that the disease will make a "significant impact" on their daily lives in the coming months, and noted that it was only a matter of time before the virus spreads in the United States.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average has dropped about 1,800 points in the last two days as global markets fear the virus will cause a worldwide slowdown in trade.
I will be having a News Conference at the White House, on this subject, today at 6:00 P.M. CDC representatives, and others, will be there. Thank you!
