GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. — The coronavirus pandemic is forcing religious leaders across the country to get creative for their weekly religious services.
Several churches across the country have taken to holding drive-in Sunday services. But a Catholic parish in Detroit has found a unique way to bestow blessings to its community in recent weeks.
St. Ambrose Parish posted a photo of a priest, Father Tim Pec, using a squirt gun to bless people in cars with holy water.
The church sats method helps him maintain social distancing from parishioners who drive up to the church.
The photos inspired dozens of memes that were widely shared on social media over the weekend.
they’ve always been giving the blessings from 6ft+ away using these mfs... which means that this specific priest made the conscious decision to use a squirt gun for shits n giggles which is just so much better https://t.co/KgDhAJFdh6 pic.twitter.com/mgIGqr4S6s
