LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — More than half a dozen people have been arrested on drug and gun-related charges, according to a news release.

The release says that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Lexington Police Department, and Kentucky State Police will hold a press conference at 3:30 on Thursday, Nov. 9, to announce the arrest.

During the conference, ATF official Shawn Morrow said that the arrests are the result of a several months-long investigation and resulted in the seizure of nearly 100 “crime guns” as well as drugs such as fentanyl, crack-cocaine, and methamphetamine.

It was also mentioned that the defendants in the case have over 100 felony arrests for crimes such as sexual offenses, drug trafficking, robbery with a firearm and non-fatal shootings.

Morrow added that the operation focused on 12 offenders, and as of the time of the conference, they had nine in custody.
