FRANKFORT, Ky. (STATE JOURNAL/LEX 18) — A Frankfort man claimed he built a motorized shopping cart, but has now been accused of actually stealing it from Walmart.

The State Journal reported that 60-year-old Stephen Baker was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property.

The paper also reported that, according to the Commonwealth's attorney, Baker showed up at the courthouse in November with the shopping cart and parked it outside.

Security asked Baker about it and he reportedly told them that he built it. He then changed his story to say that he bought it at a thrift store.

The State Journal reported that security called Walmart and they confirmed that it was one of their carts and had been stolen.

Baker is being held at the Franklin County Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
