LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man accused of murdering a woman a year ago is now being charged after allegedly strangling and beating his girlfriend while out on bond.
Austin Tudor, 25, is charged with murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Tyra Dear. The shooting took place March 1, 2019.
According to court records, Tudor was granted a release from jail on home incarceration on January 23. Tudor was then arrested on February 27 after police say he got into an argument with his girlfriend where he punched her in the face several times and strangled her to the point of causing bruises on her neck.
Yesterday, Dear's family gathered to remember and honor her, but also voiced concern that the person police say killed her was allowed out of jail.
Tudor was set to go to trial and face the murder charge in June.
