LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A 14-year-old has died after a shot was fired into a Lexington home. Police say a homicide investigation is now underway.

The Lexington Police Department says they responded to the 300 block of Lancelot Lane for a juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. When officers got to the scene, they located a 14-year-old who was declared deceased by the Lexington Fire Department.
Police located a 13-year-old suspect and placed the teen into custody. The juvenile has been charged with 2nd-degree manslaughter.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 14-year-old Daymarcus Williams. An autopsy is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort.
Detectives are still investigating the incident and additional charges may come.
