FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Franklin County's Board of Education has decided not to punish Superintendent Mark Kopp, who was indicted for attempted bribery this week.

Kopp was charged for comments he allegedly made to a deputy sheriff in June 2019.

Investigators said the case is linked to abuse claims against a former Bondurant Middle School teacher and a failure to report an abuse charge against Bondurant principal, Whitney Allison.

The State Journal reported that, despite the charge, the board voted unanimously not to take any action against Superintendent Kopp or Principal Allison.
