Mon, Nov. 3: Mail ballots must be postmarked by Mon, Nov. 3 and received by Fri, Nov. 6
1. Request an absentee ballot
2. Receive your ballot in the mail.
3. Fill your ballot out.
4. Mail it back or deliver it in person to your local county clerks office. Drop boxes will be available for Kentuckians to return their mail ballots if they are concerned about postal delays. County Clerks will determine these locations. .
Tue, Oct. 13: Early Voting Begins
Beginning Oct. 13, three weeks before the election, every work day between Oct. 13 and Election Day, and every Saturday for at least four hours, every county clerk will provide a location for safe in-person voting.
Early voting is not absentee voting – anyone can vote early for any reason.
Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
You need to bring ID. If you don't, you can request a provisional ballot. (ID rules my vary for absentee ballots and first-time voters.) See more options below.
Only 17?
You may register to vote in Kentucky as a 17-year-old if you will be 18 years old by the next General Election, which will be November 3, 2020.
College Students
If you are a college student registered to vote in Kentucky and you are unable to vote in your precinct on election day, you may apply for an absentee ballot with your county clerk here.

Cancel Your Voter Registration
Voters who are moving out of Kentucky should cancel their Kentucky voter registration before registering to vote in another state. There are two ways to cancel your voter registration:
1. Visit your County Clerk's office with identification and request to be removed from the voting rolls. Find your County Clerk's office here.
2. Call the Kentucky State Board of Elections at 1-800-246-1399 to request a cancellation letter, which begins the process of canceling your voter registration.
