Danville Police Department adds new K-9, school resource officer

DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Danville Police Department has announced its newest K-9 team.

Police say school resource officer Ben Ray is currently training with his new K-9 partner Scooter in Brevard County, Florida.

Scooter is a rescue dog and is part of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office Paws and Stripes College.

Officials say Scooter is a certified therapy dog and will be hitting the streets and schools of Danville at the end of training.
