FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Scott County woman used social media to make others aware of what happened to her in the parking lot of a Frankfort TJ Maxx store on Tuesday.

"The way our victim described it is she was trying to get into her car as he was trying to pull her out," said Captain Dustin Bowman of the Frankfort Police Department.

Bowman revealed that Tuesday's incident isn't the only occurrence the department is investigating after hearing similar complaints in recent weeks.

"From what we've uncovered at this point, we don't think any of them is linked. Not the same identified suspect," Bowman said. "In a couple of cases, it wasn't so much abduction as it was some type of harassment or assault."

The only common link is that all three happened in a similar location.

"All of them take place in parking lots, so that's one place to pay attention," Bowman advised before reminding residents that this hasn't risen to a level where everyone needs to be frightened about leaving their homes. He just wants everyone to be aware.

"When you're going to a store the smallest, routine things, treat as if anything can happen," he said.

Because as this woman shared, the unthinkable did happen.
