LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington Police confirmed that a shooting took place on Monday evening on Broadway and N Loudon close to Thornton's gas station.
One adult woman was injured, but her injuries are non-life threatening.
Police have part of N Broadway and Loudon blocked off. No confirmed information about what’s happened, but witnesses say they heard several gunshots. I can see what appears to be a bullet hole through the front windshield of this car. @LEX18News pic.twitter.com/uutWwpZ2fs

Police have a vague description of the suspect and noted they have a lot of conflicting statements from witnesses.
The shooting is the latest of a string of violence in Lexington. On Sunday night, seven people were shot during a celebration of Kenneth Bottoms Jr., who was shot and killed inside Fayette Mall on Aug. 23. Just this morning, 56-year-old Sabel Jallow was found dead inside her home in what police believe is a homicide.
"Lexington is hurting," Corey Dunn, an advocate for at-risk youth, said. "If you look at the COVID crisis, people are suffering from it and people losing family and friends. If you look at the opioid epidemic, people are losing family and friends. If you look at the gun violence, and to me it's an epidemic too, we're losing family and friends."
