Marion County sheriff's deputy hurt, suspect in critical condition after shooting

MARION COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Marion County Sheriff's Office has confirmed two people have been injured in a shooting, including a sheriff's deputy.

Kentucky State Police says the shooting happened at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday on KY Highway 337 outside of Lebanon.

Police say a male suspect was transported by Air Evac to UK Healthcare Hospital in Lexington in critical condition following the shooting. Officers say a Marion County Deputy was transported to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon and is in stable condition.

KSP's Critical Incident Response Team arrived on the scene following a request from the Marion County Sheriff's Office. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

Police did not indicate what led up to the shooting.
