FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A juvenile has been charged with murder in a Franklin County death investigation.
Kentucky State Police said that on the morning of Oct. 1, 2019, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 hang-up call from a home on Pea Ridge Road. Deputies responded to the scene and found a man with life-threatening injuries.
The man died from his injuries shortly thereafter. He has been identified as 73-year-old Ronald Thornton, who lived at the residence.
Tuesday, Nov. 26, KSP said a juvenile was taken into custody and charged with murder in the case. The juvenile was lodged in a juvenile detention center.
The case remains under investigation.
The accused has not been identified since they are a juvenile.
