LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — An arrest has been made in a Lexington homicide case that had gone cold for more than a decade.
On Friday, investigators arrested Rachel Martin, 34, for the 2009 murder of Charlie Sowers.
Sowers was found May 27, 2009 in his home on Augusta Drive suffering from a head injury. The 71-year-old was later pronounced deceased at a hospital and his cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.
Martin was taken into custody Friday with the assistance of the Garrard County Police Department. She is lodged in the Lincoln County Regional Jail pending extradition to Lexington.
