CINCINNATI (WLWT)– The Cincinnati City Council passed a resolution officially recognizing Oct. 8 as Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
The resolution went through with a 6 to 2 vote Wednesday.
The second Monday in October also marks the celebration of Columbus Day, which some people have called into question in recent years.
Some cities have adopted holidays celebrating the indigenous populations of the Americas, and Cincinnati will be the latest city on that list.
