CINCINNATI, Ohio (LEX 18)– The Cincinnati Police Department released additional details about a mass shooting downtown Thursday.
Police say the suspect, identified as Omar Enrique Santa Perez, fired 35 rounds and was carrying more than 200 rounds.
Four Cincinnati officers were involved in the encounter with the shooter, while hundreds of other officers secured the scene around Fifth Third Center and Fountain Square.
The gun that was used in the incident was legally purchased at a local gun supply store.
