LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The woman accused in a deadly crash that killed three people, including her own sister, appeared in Fayette County Court.
Tammy Rodriguez, 42, is charged with three counts of murder for a crash that happened on I-75 last month.
Police say Rodriguez was driving a Ford F-150 truck south in the northbound lanes of I-75 after making a U-turn when she struck two vehicles.
According to police, Rodriguez hit one vehicle head-on, killing 26-year-old Taylor Blevins and her sister, 20-year-old Caitlyn Bailey.
Also killed was Rodriguez's sister Debbie Lynn Bevins, who was a passenger in her truck. Police say Rodriguez was under the influence.
Rodriugez was brought to court in a wheelchair and her arm in a sling. The judge ordered a 30-day continuance to allow Rodriguez to be given a psych evaluation.
She will be back in court on Nov. 5.
