WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Williamsburg woman accused of killing her husband and two teenage daughters three years ago has entered an Alford plea to three counts of murder.
Courtney Taylor was charged with shooting her 56-year-old husband, Larry, and daughters, 13-year-old Jolee and 18-year-old Jesse, in January 2017.
Police said they shot Taylor twice after she pointed a gun at them but survived.
Officials said Taylor told police she killed her husband because he spent a $250,000 settlement she had received.
The Alford plea means Taylor does not admit guilt but acknowledges that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict her.
The recommended sentence for Taylor is life without parole. She is due to be sentenced April 8.
