Trial date set for man accused of killing teen at slumber party

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A trial date has been set for a Scott County man charged with murder in the death of a 15-year-old girl killed during a slumber party in August of 2016.

Today Scott County Circuit Court Judge Jeremy Maddox set Michael Davidson's trial for July 13, 2020. Davidson is accused of opening fire on a Stamping Ground mobile home on August 27, 2016, killing ninth grader Morgan Penn.

Davidson also faces four counts of wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police and tampering with physical evidence.

He is already serving 20 years in prison on one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and also a charge of being a persistent felony offender.
