LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Three people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of an elderly couple in Lexington.
Police say the crime happened late last month at the Walmart on Nicholasville Road.
They say an 88-year-old man and his 84-year-old wife were walking to their car when they were approached by Austin Morrison and Mercedes Childress who were armed with a shotgun and pistol.
Reportedly they pointed the guns at the victims and demanded money.
The victims were able to honk their horn and get the attention of witnesses causing Morrison and Mercedes to take off in a car driven by Brandon Ross.
All three are charged with first degree robbery.
