LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Lexington were investigating after a teenage boy was shot late Sunday night on the city's south side.

Authorities said a 17-year-old was shot twice about 8:30 p.m. at Appian Way and Venetian Circle, not far from Gainesway Park.

Police said the shooting occurred near the Tate's Creek School campus.

The teenager was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, official said.

Authorities said some sort of disorder preceded the shooting. Several shell casings were found in the area, police said.

Police were seeking suspects, but no arrests had been made.
