LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Authorities have booked a teenager who was indicted in a deadly shooting of a 15-year-old into the Fayette County Detention Center.

Jail records show Malachi Jackson was transferred into the adult facility after turning 18 on Sunday.

Jackson is charged with the murder of 15-year-old Kevin Olmeda-Ortiz. The Lafayette High School student was shot and killed in February 2018 outside a home on Garden Springs Drive.

Jackson pleaded not guilty last year to murder, assault and robbery charges in the case.
