Student arrested after sex assault reported on Lincoln Co. school bus

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A student at Lincoln County High School has been charged with sexual abuse after an incident on a school bus.

18-year-old Matthew Boswell was taken into custody and has been lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center.

A letter sent home to parents who have children who ride the bus, notified them of the situation.

"An 18-year-old male Lincoln County High School student has been arrested and charged with first degree sexual abuse for events that occurred on bus 178 after it departed from Hustonville Elementary on Friday afternoon, 9/27/19. You are receiving this letter because records indicate your student may have been a bus rider on this bus," reads the letter.

The incident was reported to Lincoln School law enforcement and an investigation was launched. The officer obtained surveillance video and determined that an incident had occurred.

According to an arrest citation, Boswell was caught on surveillance lifting up a middle school-aged girl's shirt and grabbing her genitals as she resisted.
