LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Hundreds of protesters have taken to the streets in Lexington to protest against police brutality. The protests come just days after George Floyd died after a police officer kneeled on his neck in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It also comes a little over two months after Breonna Taylor was shot and killed by a police officer on March 13.

Police had Martin Luther King and Main Street blocked off. West Main and South Limestone were also closed off.
Protesters were asked to use personal protective equipment and practice social distancing.
One protester told LEX 18 they plan to protest in the same manner on Sunday.
They plan to be back here Sunday for another demonstration. “Do not antagonize the police,” one speaker says, urging people to go to their cars in pairs as they leave, and to do so safely. @LEX18News
