Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash on West New Circle Tuesday evening, police report

One person was killed after being hit by a car in a hit-and-run crash that occurred in the 400 block of West New Circle Road in Lexington on Tuesday evening, according to the Lexington Police Department.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital, where they died from injuries.

Lexington police say that at this time, there is no description of the run vehicle or the victim.

The outer loop of New Circle is closed at Russell Cave but should be clear in time for morning traffic, police say.

As of approximately 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, a portion of West New Circle Road is closed between Russell Cave Road and Boardwalk, and emergency personnel are on the scene.
