Police: Owingsville man arrested after counterfeit money discovered

OWINGSVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Bath County man has been charged with producing counterfeit money after police received a tip.

According to officials with the Owingsville police, officers searched a residence where Eric Craig had been living.

The search warrant revealed numerous amounts of counterfeit money ready for use, half printed money, printer paper that was being used to make the counterfeit money, and printers that still had the counterfeit money in them. Also during the search of the residence, numerous card readers and suspected card skimmers were found.

Officers also found suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the residence. Numerous amounts of stolen personal documents, that contain sensitive information was located. Several suspected stolen registration plates and motel room keys where also found. Owingsville police officers have notified the FBI and Secret Service. Eric Craig has also been operating in the Lexington KY area.
