LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A 3-year-old has died after accidentally shooting himself in the head, authorities in Kentucky said.
Sir Zion Broyles, 3, died Thursday afternoon from the self-inflicted gunshot wound, Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn told news outlets.
Lexington Police Department Spokeswoman Brenna Angel said the toddler accidentally shot himself in the head Tuesday and was hospitalized with life-threatening wounds
Ginn said Broyles died at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center’s pediatric intensive care unit.
Details surrounding the shooting weren’t immediately released. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
