LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington's Sayre Christian Village says more than two dozen patients and staffers have tested positive since the facility's first COVID-19 death this week.

A 75-year-old resident died of complications from the virus Monday night. The death was followed by 21 new cases in 24 hours according to the facility.

Staff members say they held mass testing on Thursday, which showed 25 more patients and 6 more staffers positive.

There are now 61 active cases in the long-term care facility.

Everyone will be tested again on Monday.
