Man accused of twice robbing Lexington pharmacy at gunpoint

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man accused of robbing the same pharmacy twice in the last month is due in court Tuesday.

Lexington police arrested Michael McReynolds Jr. Monday night after he was identified by employees as the man who robbed the Hubbard & Curry Pharmacy.

On Sept. 27, police responded the pharmacy, located near the intersection of Malabu Drive and Nicholasville Road. Employees told police a masked man came in with an AK-style rifle and stole money and pills; Oxycodone and Zubsolv, which is used to treat opioid addiction.

Then, on Oct. 18, police were called to the same pharmacy for another armed robbery. According to the arrest citation, the suspect demanded drugs, then locked the employees inside the back office.

Employees later told police the suspect was McReynolds. Fingerprints found after the second robbery matched McReynolds.

McReynolds was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Fayette District Court.
