LEXINGTON, KY (LEX 18) — A man accused of killing a 51-year-old Carroll "Marty" Martin entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment in Fayette district court today. Jeremy Jackson, 21, is charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Martin on Florence Avenue earlier this month.

The shooting happened around 9:15 in the morning on Sunday September 15th. Lexington police say Martin was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to UK Medical Center, where he later died.

Yesterday, Lexington police arrested Jackson after conducting a search on Rogers Road.

Jackson remains locked up at the Fayette County Detention Center. He has a preliminary hearing set for October third at 8:30am.
