LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Lexington were searching for a suspect following a shooting Monday night that left a man hospitalized.
Authorities said the shooting occurred just before 8 p.m. on Spangler Drive in the Tates Creek area.
Police said a man and woman were in a car when another man walked up to them and fired one shot into the car, striking the man.
The couple drove from the scene until they found a police officer near the intersection of Appian Way and Man O' War Boulevard.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he underwent surgery.
Police have not released a description of the suspect but said the gunman and victim know one another.
