LEX 18's Political Reporter Karolina Buczek sat down with Gov.-Elect Andy Beshear on Monday to talk about the challenges awaiting him as this new administration takes the governor's Office.
Buczek asked him about many different topics, including why he wants this job, and the biggest challenges he thinks he will face. They discussed abortion, public education, gambling and the gubernatorial election.
Beshear addressed with LEX 18 what he believes is the key to taking on the most pressing issues of the commonwealth.
"We're always going to have budgetary challenges. We're always going to have at least one person, somewhere, that might not be in the spirit of cooperation that we have to build. We can work with that. We can address those challenges," he said. "And if we take on every single challenge coming from the right place, again, even if we disagree, coming from the right place, I believe we can address each and every one."
