OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officials said a bullet fired into an apartment in Oldham County came from a Kentucky State Police trooper who lived upstairs.

The gunfire occurred Saturday night at the Oldham Oaks apartment building in La Grange.

A man called 911 to report that a shot was fired into the ceiling of is apartment, just feet from where his daughter had been sitting.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Deputies spoke with upstairs neighbors, troopers Landon Terry and Dustin Gross.

Terry reportedly told deputies the shot was not intentional and had come from a rifle he and Gross believed was unloaded.

Terry said someone pulled the trigger and the rifle fired because a bullet was chambered.

KSP said the troopers are on administrative leave and the incident is under investigation.
