FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Gov. Andy Beshear announced that a new set of requirements for Kentucky will be announced amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The announcement will come a day after 402 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday. The 402 new cases are the second-highest daily total since the pandemic began. On Tuesday, 371 new cases were reported which is now the third-largest daily total.

“The rising case numbers are cause for concern, so tomorrow we’re going to announce some new requirements that are going to be mandatory,” Gov. Beshear said on Wednesday in a press release. “Given what we are seeing across the country with exploding numbers in certain places, my commitment is to make sure that doesn’t happen here, but I can’t do it alone.”

The announcement will take place during Gov. Beshear's press conference at 4 p.m. You can watch the press conference live on LEX 18.
