FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Franklin County Sheriff's Department said two officers were injured two weeks ago during a traffic stop that turned into a drug bust.
Authorities said a deputy and a sergeant stopped a vehicle about 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 along Holmes Street.
Police said 33-year-old Terrence Sharp tried to flee and then fought with the officers. Both of the officers sustained minor injuries.
Officials said a search of Sharp's vehicle turned up 74 grams of marijuana, 197 oxycodone 30 mg tablets, and 15 grams of crack cocaine.
Sharp was charged with third-degree assault on a police officer, first-degree fleeing and evading, trafficking in cocaine, and first-degree trafficking in opiates, over 10 dosage units.
Sharp was being held in the Franklin County Detention Center.
