Damage but no injuries reported in spate of Lexington shootings

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Lexington responded to at least seven reports of shootings in the city overnight Sunday into Monday morning.

Officials said most of the calls came in starting just before midnight until about 3:15 a.m.

Fortunately in each of the incidents, no injuries were reported.

The first reported shooting happened around midnight in the 3500 block of Buckhorn Drive. Police say two vehicles were struck by gunfire there.

About an hour later, police were called to the 500 block of Georgetown Street, where investigators found that two residences were damaged by bullets.

Authorities said a man and a woman were in one of the homes and two men and two women were inside the other. No one was injured.

Police also were called out on reports of shots fired in the 400 block of McConnell's Trace, the 3200 block of Mirror Lake Drive, Ohio Street and Willard Street.

In each case, police said, a home or a vehicle was damaged.

And around 2:30 a.m. police were called to Leisure Creek Court, where they found shell casings in the road.

Police did not have a good description of possible suspects in the cases.
