LONDON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lois Henshaw was a hairdresser at Head Hunters Hair Salon in Berea.

On Tuesday, Henshaw was killed. Kentucky State Police said she had a verbal altercation with her stepson, George Henshaw. Police added that it appears as though George retrieved a gun following the argument and fatally shot her, and he later confessed to the murder.

Lois Henshaw's co-workers said they remember her as a devout Christian who loved animals, was compassionate, and a bit quirky.

"She loved everybody with her whole heart," salon owner and friend Debbie Hays said.

"She was very friendly," co-worker and friend Fannie Lamb said. "She was outgoing."

Lamb recalled how much Henshaw cared about her clients.

"She would walk them," Lamb said. "Held their hand. All the way to the sink and back to the chair."

Henshaw's family and friends are now left to mourn the unbelievable loss.

"I can't believe she's gone," Lamb said.

"I was lucky," Hays said. "I was lucky I got Lois. She was my best friend. She really was my best friend."
