MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Mercer County Fire District has issued a burn ban as heavy winds are expected to hit the area on Thursday and Friday.
Officials detailed that the gusty winds increase fire danger for the community and, therefore, a burn ban is now in effect until further notice.
