(LEX 18) — A northern Kentucky man has pleaded guilty to concealing his father’s death for nearly five years, in order to keep receiving the Social Security benefits.

Authorities say Robert Howard pleaded guilty to one count of Social Security fraud.

Court records say Howard admitted to not reporting his father’s death and to lying to the Social Security Administration in order to receive the benefits. Howard received more than $82,000 in Social Security payments.

He faces up to five years in prison at sentencing, which is scheduled for Sept. 26.
