Warren Co. Police Say Tennessee Man Held In Theft

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Warren County arrested a Tennessee man Saturday after allegedly catching him committing a theft.

Authorities said 34-year-old William Wright of Nashville was held early Saturday.

Police said officers were called out just after 3:30 a.m. to a report of a theft in progress in the 100 block of Sunnyside Gott Road.

Responding officers said they heard someone jumping a fence and saw Wright fleeing the scene. Officers later chased Wright through a field before apprehending him.

Police said Wright was found with credit cards and IDs. He also allegedly damaged a vehicle and stole a wallet from it.

Wright was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, public intoxication, first-degree fleeing or evading police, two counts of tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and promoting contraband.
