CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Authorities in Western Kentucky are investigating after a 1-year-old drowned.
It happened just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office says a woman called saying she found her 1-year-old in a pond near her home, and that the child was not breathing.
After CPR was given, medical officials took the child to a local hospital, and then to Vanderbilt in Nashville.
On Thursday, authorities at Vanderbilt announced the child had died.
The sheriff’s office did not specify where in the county the incident happened.
