FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)– Attorney General Andy Beshear and Governor Matt Bevin are wasting no time when it comes to the race for governor. The attacks are already gearing up.

Coming off of a primary win, Bevin’s campaign released its first videos. In them, a clear attack on his opponent, Andy Beshear.

“But his policies, his ideas, his lack of imagination, is bad for Kentucky,” Bevin says in the video.

After an event in Frankfort Thursday, Beshear, who has also taken jabs at Bevin, told LEX 18 that the videos don’t bother him.

“He’s made plenty of videos of me in the past. I’m not worried about them,” Beshear said.

In the video, Bevin talked about boosting the economy and creating more jobs in Kentucky. He said that Kentucky now has the lowest unemployment in the history of Kentucky.

Beshear questions that claim.

“This governor, if he travels around this state, will see that he hasn’t created a new job in Eastern of Western Kentucky in about ten years,” Beshear said.

Bevin’s video also talks about his relationship with President Donald Trump, but Beshear says that is a cover.

“For an incumbent governor to be relying on someone else shows just how bad his record is,” said Beshear.
